My dog (a boxer mix) eats plain old Purina Dog Chow and several Milkbone or other small treats per day. We have noticed that the only time he gets really horrible "clear the room" gas is when he eats something different from normal, even a different brand of dog food. It's a great incentive to not feed him any type of table food.

We had a large golden who used to have such bad smelly gas it would make our eyes tear. he would leave the room, and that would be our cue to leave it too!

Not wanting to be rude, but why give your dog a sub premium treat when you're feeding premium food?

Dogs really go for the fattening, unhealthy stuff becase it tends to taste better to them, but treats should only be occasional, so an unhealthy treat once a week or so won't hurt her.

might seem odd...BUT...try adding a little parsley to the food bowl about a teaspoon of dry or a tablespoon of fresh chopped. its actually easy to make your own dog cookies and ive found this to be the easiest way...we used to have a boxer and i found adding home made peanut butter cookies with parsley made a HUGE difference.
you can find dog cookie recipies online

parsley is excelent as an anti gas and absolutly safe for dogs tummies

I know it has alot to do w/ food. We feed Canidae Life Stages (dry) and MilkBone biscuits for treats.
My Boxer is a year and some months and has farted in our presence just once or twice. His father on the other hand can clear a room.

So can my little fluffball.

I think my Boxer is a pig so he eats too often to get really gassy

This thread is so funny I have tears in my eyes, I'm laughing so much - sorry guys.

My dog is a Staffie he doesn't fart that often tbh.

The last time he broke wind was months ago. He was resting in front of the fire, broke wind and fightened himself to death. He jumped out of his skin and spun round to see where it came from - the nutter.
