So ive witnessed hitting and mistreatment of this poor pit bull puppy since this teenager first got it about two weeks ago.

Ive noticed hes very tired of taking care of this puppy and have seen him hit the puppy for not obeying him and the puppy will scream, then ive seen him and his mom just drop and throw the puppy to the ground to go potty This is so heart breaking for me.

Ive written the mother a note and put it on her car explaining what ive seen, that ive called the local police, humane society and animal control on them. Also that this puppy deserves the resepct and deserves a loving caring family that will teach it correctly.

Ive yelled at her son to not hit his dog and to treat it with respect, but he didnt turn around and just kept walking up to his house.

I called their landlord and explained the situation and they were rude to me but said we do not allow our residents to have animals at all so we will be contacting them that the animal cannot stay here. --That was on thursday, today is saturday and ive seen this puppy with those residents still. I tried to tell the landlord its important that those people(because they seem pretty irrisponsible as it is) that they can surrender the puppy to the humane society or to animal control instead of it ending up with a worse family since it is a pit bull. The landlord said they will not get involved with where the puppy goes.

I called animal control and they said they were going to pay them a visist and they took the landlords number down.

I was talking with the worker at the laundry mat today and she said she wanted the landlords number to report the puppy also. So that might help if someone else calls too?

Have I done the right thing? These people are nasty, i dont even know why they want this puppy of none of them seem happy with it.

Is there anything else i can do if this problem persists?
Thank you!

You have done all you can do short of stealing the puppy. However, that is off the table since you have already confronted the people. You would be thier first suspect and while not much would probably come of your actions from law enforcement, who knows with their kind of character what they might do to you.
Maybe buy the puppy from them?

Can you video them when they are doing these things outside in public? I would think that would be proof enough for animal control to take action. Poor pup. Hopefully something will be done soon before it goes too far. Thanks for taking action!

I think you have done all you can do, short of videotaping the abuse. But i think that might be dangerous if they catch you. These seem like the kind of people who would retaliate.

Okay first off keep calling the Landlord become a pita to the landlord then and only then will he or she do something . I think maybe you other option is to buy the puppy off of them as well . I suggest your just keep calling animal control as well become a pita to them too . call everyone you can think of to help that puppy . I dont understand why ppl get a puppy or a dog and then dont have time for it . I had neighbors that the kids were always bringing an animal home and their mother would tell them to get rid of it , we cant feed it . So instead of calling the proper authorities on it she would just throw it out the door . Frankly that woman pissed me off more than once and I was never so glad to see someone move as them .I told the Landlord also that the next load of trash he let in there we the homeowner would petition the city to take his license as a landlord away . That seemed to work because he never rented it again . He sold the property a yr later which was a blessing because a nice young couple moved in . I sold my property as well not too long after that , but become a PITA to everyone until that puppy has a good home .

Thank you everyone! You were all so nice unlike some people in these forums lol. I wanted to steal the puppy but they would know me and be able to see which apartment i live in I also have been thinking about video taping.

Since the landlord said they cannot have the puppy there, im hoping i wont be seeing it by monday. I havent seen that kid around at all either( i wonder what happened with him..) but thank you again everyone, your input it means a lot to me.

Thank you for your concern for the poor little guy. Anything would be better than being in that household.
