Notice the crib extensions which I hope is for infants and not to accommodate more pugs.
But I guess it works for dogs as well as babies.

Nobody loves their dogs more than I do. But I will never let any of them into my bed. Or couch. Or any other furniture meant for humans.

I sleep in a fur sandwich, dog and cat on my right other cat on my left...and if I fail to change the sheets on schedule left side cat decamps! Never too many dogs or cats on the bed for me

We had a dozen at one time. We're down to six now. Five are chihuahuas and the other is a boxer mix. The staffie and the pittie / dane mix have couches in the den they sleep on.

The number depends on the dogs. At present, my new adoptees, Bear (80lb) and Sharpie (55lb) start out the night on the bed, although Bear seems to leave at some point. Dusty (10lb) is always curled up with me since his first night here). Eloise (30lb) tries to squeeze in without getting too close to me, being sort of feral. I am saving Bear's bulk for cold-feet nights.

Once during a several day power outage, I had a 60lb dog on each side and a beagle on my feet under the covers. That worked well. The beagle was very stoic.

Growing up, it never occurred to me that animals would sleep on furniture or in bed. Since having my own home, it's up to them.

Caesar sleeps in his kennel at night but in the morning, after he goes out, he's in bed with us until we get up,
and we usually sleep in late. So he sleeps on and off the bed....

I would not be able to go to sleep without a warm, furry, canine body touching me somewhere, preferably snuggling against my back.

I no longer have these three, but when they were alive, I shared my king bed with them. One of the greys usually insisted on sleeping crossways. It was fun finding a comfortable position:

Three every night...occasionally four. Our king size bed feels empty if the dogs aren't in it with us. Three Bostons and a Frenchie.

Default Dog Bed

One for now, when we win the powerball lottery, we'll get more dogs and more beds, and a few baby sitters too.

Four short nose dogs and one spouse, all of whom SNORE

Annie the terrier looks on sympathetically and say "yeah, sometimes I have a hard time sleeping, too. Wanna go sleep in the spare room?"
