Hi everyone! We just adopted our new puppy, Riley. He is now 10 weeks old. His mom was a lab, but we don't know what his dad was. He is pretty thin/lean (not chunky despite our attempts to fatten him up!) He is friendly, pretty active and high energy and his eyes are blue (dark not a light blue) Does anyone have a guess as to what his mix is, lab with ?
Thanks for any help!

He's really beautiful!
Maybe some beagle in there? Boxer?

I don't have a clue but I'd climb a mountain for a kiss.

Look at those white socks on his front legs! OMG!

I think Beagle is a good guess, especially looking at the second picture.

Thanks!! The shelter thought maybe Boxer, but I'm just not sure! I had not thought about Beagle, but now you mention it, I can see that as very possible. And yes he sure does give sweet kisses!!

lab/Boxer seems to be a common guess. Would that be due to his ears, or eyes, or his markings and coloring?
We had a boxer when we I was a kid, she was a great dog.

I say boxer due to the facial markings and structure of his head.

Unless you are talking about a purebred mix there will seldom be only one or two breeds involved. The average mix is from a pair of mixes who were also from pairs of mixes. It is like being American, there could be 15 differnt breeds in the past three generations alone. I always liked the term "Heinz 57" for the average mixed breed because it will always be a secret recipe. Like any recipe, it matters not the content as long as the outcome is desireable.

Have a blast with Riley and be sure to spoil him some for me.

His coat has the a bit of the merle pattern in it. So maybe some Aussie or merle Collie. Looks like a little bit houndy about the face. too.

An enormous number of dogs are called Labs that probably aren't. So he could have a dozen breeds in him. Whatever they were they mingled together to produce a stunningly gorgeous puppy. I want to pick him up and give him a dozen kisses. Good luck and enjoy !

When you have the spare change do one of the doggy DNA tests on him just for fun.
