Aside from the bevy of hotel issues media members had leading up to the Winter Games, a lot has been made of the abundance of stray dogs that wander Sochi's streets.

The dogs are seen as a big problem in Sochi, and City Hall went so far as to order the killing of these dogs “so they don’t bother visitors.”

Default Saving the Stray Dogs of Sochi

Before the Olympics started there were articles about the government possibly killing the numerous stray dogs that live in Sochi. Since then, people have sprung into action.

Here are some volunteers that are working to rescue the dogs:

I think this was a publicity stunt by the skier. Bring dogs back from another country is not an easy thing and requires vetting and time and qurantining them.

I don't know...article says he's getting vax and kennels lined up. I'm sure he'll find out what he needs to do to get them to the US. Hopefully, there'll be a follow-up to this.
