Update on call to police. There evidently was a ticket for Sophie being off leash that was ignored end of Jan. and also the police did home visit, no one was there. They are following up, as well as Animal warden:
My daughter's txt to me this am
"So they went to house, and no one answered, they went to her work, and she's off this whole week. They are going to go back to the house again, because apparently a ticket came up in the system yesterday that EX received in January for having Sophie unleashed at the park and he didn't pay it, and he didn't have her registered at that time, and she had no collar nor tags on.....so now they definitely want to visually see the dog"
She also had a chance to tell an employee at Animal warden office some of the background, and now there is more interest...Hoping this all helps to locate Sophie.

This is about Sophie....but to increase understanding....I'll briefly say....
You know...I try not to dislike folks...and always give most folks room to prove themselves.

But, this last year has really opened my eyes....My daughter's EX has hidden assets repeatedly...lied to the court system, and failed to provide court ordered support multiple times.

Also....though he has sat in that house....supposed to have been refinancing, he did not make payments for 13 mths...Daughter's name still on mortgage too....ruined credit...Has had live in roommates, paying rent....hiding this from court....and two new Mercedes sitting in his garage...Such screwed up priorities...

I now wouldn't put much past him, seriously...But...I still don't think he would have harmed Sophie....but I do think he is hiding her to hurt my Daughter. Irrational anger...Hurting these kids...Look at the pics I put in my profile page....One loving happy puppy!

She dared leave him....after finding out he has had multiple affairs over their 13 year marriage....among other issues that came out last year.

Seriously....You have got to love your children, more than you hate your ex.....

This is good news and a big step in the right direction at least! I'm glad the police are taking this seriously and seem to be very involved in at least finding out of Sophie is ok, or possibly bringing her home.

I just got off phone with my daughter. She emailed ex's boss. She is picking up the missing support tomorrow, and has news about Sophie. Boss is arranging for her to see Sophie too. Ex did at least give Sophie to a person that is considered a good person, my daughter knows this. So...at least she will have opportunity to verify, and then decide. Th not knowing where she was, if she was safe and having Ex blow off emails and txts and attempts to at least get a response concerning Sophie's where abouts was cruel in my opinion. I'll update as I can...Thanks for all the suggestions...and helpful posts.

This is something that she should make sure to bring up with regard to the custody arrangements. That's some really sick stuff to put the kids through.

Oh yeah, and I'm glad Sophie is safe! I was thinking some pretty dark possibilities were on the table.

Yes....Thank you all.. You have all been great support and offered comforting words and advice. I appreciate you all very much.
Yes...There have been issues all along with visitation...but...this will also be mentioned for sure. It seems very cruel to put everyone thru this. I'm hopeful that this part at least is nearly done. I'll update again, as news arrives. Thanks again everyone!

Thank you..She did finally get to see her...although ex SIL ran back to house w/ her. At least we know she is not turned loose on the streets...that is a blessing. Otherwise, my daughter feels it is best to back off...thankful Sophie is safe...Her ex is so vindictive...pushing it could make it worse. Thank you so much for your support and concern, Jan
