Salzkammergut, Austria (AHN) - A dog was taken to a local veterinary clinic in Austria with the animal displaying symptoms including constant vomiting and swaying side to side. The vet said it was apparent the dog was drunk.

"When I got him up on the table, it smelled like a distillery," said Karl Hofbauer of the Oberoesterreichische Nachrichten in the Salzkammergut region.

An animal can easily die from alcohol poisoning. I'd be surprised if a dog would drink, say, beer, but maybe other booze tastes good to them.

Ive seen a few dogs that loved beer.

I know a woman who had to call the vet because her dogs had eaten some old marijauana butter she threw in the composte. She found them passed out.

I had a golden that loved beer. But it obviously can't be good for them. I'd let him lick the top of an empty bottle once in a while, but that was about it. He was goofy enough sober.

The labs seem to prefer beer. I had a Yellow Lab (a big one!). At home, if there was a bottle of beer, he would grab the bottle, tilt his head back and guzzel it down. first time I saw this, I couldn't believe it. My current lab noses beer cans, but I'd never let him have any, it's got to be bad for them. Just be glad they can't drive!
