My dog has had terrible smelling gas lately, he farts a lot too. I feed him Canidae all life stages. He is 9 months old. I think it could be his food but it could also be stress related since we just moved. He is not showing any signs of being allergic to the food and has solid stools. The food does not bother my other two dogs.
dave is a pretty gassy boy himself...... particularly when it's getting close to poop time.......
give your pup a week or so to get used to the new digs..... and if its still going on, maybe have him checked by the vet ..... could have a little tummy virus.... one of my kitties went through that about a year ago........
Give him some plain yogurt in his food. If he is a med size dog about 2 tablespoons. It works and I use it when one of mine has gas, they all get a good dose of yogurt for a couple of days. They love it.. I have one that can clear a room. IIRC the vet said that the bacteria in the yogurt helps their stomach.
Charlie, my German Shepherd mix has bad gas too. It has become less frequent recently, we also just moved and we're settling in. As soon as things calm down your dog will too. Charlie has a very sensitive stomach so I was hesitant to give him yogurt, but I have heard that this works.
Another thing to consider is your dog takes cues from you so if you're stressed, your dog will be stressed too.
They are just like people, some have it real bad, others you'll never notice. I've got a 5 pound chi that can clear the room. She's made us gag on many occasions. And I had rotties on Innova Evo for a while that could peel the paint off the walls. You don't want 5 rotties in the house, all with horrid gas.
