At Orvis you can get her DNA tested and know for sure. I think it's only 80 dollars...Carrie

Some Schnauzer...maybe a little Spaniel too (the tail looks sort of Spaniel-y).

I say beared collie or old english mix. She looks like she has a funny personality.
Bet she's a wrestler.

The others have already chimed in with my guesses, but I just wanted to say how cute that little girl is! Love how you are calling her a muppet.

I think I have one of these precious little muppets, too! Rescued 3 months ago from a shelter in Thompson Falls, MT. Spent hours (between hugs, kisses, long walks) trying find a breed he could be. I think there is some Tibetan Terrier (AKC says NO terrier in Tibetan Terrier breeds) in Fletcher. His face, tail, coat, NOSE, v-shaped ears ... looks so much like your little muppet. Doesn't matter to me what his genetics are ... he's a treasure for me. Have no idea what the "other" parent would have been because he doesn't have the thick undercoat like the AKC states. However, if your sister's little muppet does has some Tibetan Terrier in her, the disposition of these little critters are cheerful, happy, energetic, loves to do things with their family - overall, wonderful to have as a friend.

I'd guess a terrier and spaniel combination. What ever she is, she's a cutie.
