Cats! LOL Go ahead & introduce him to the cats. Make sure the cats can escape his puppy antics. But they will teach him respect! IF they have claws trim them. A swat on the nose wont kill him Don't coddle him! BTW You need top teach him to let you out of his sight! Or you end up with the a Dog that Howls & carries on when your away! Ignore Him! Don't come back to him till hes calm.

I do when he is howling I just stay away for a few minutes after he stops howling. Like you said, he has to learn to be by himself sometimes.
I see beagle too. He could well have German Shepherd in him, along with other things. Did they have his mother also or did they change their minds about a puppy?? She might have looked more shepherdy, and that's where it came from. About the brindle on his legs that someone mentioned, there are around 15 breeds or more that can have brindle coloring. How much does he weigh?
I don't see any German Shepherd, but he has some hound dog in him. Maybe Walker hound; they come in brindle color.
Didn't you see the mama dog? If so, what did she look like?
The pup has a long slim muzzle, so no pitbull, Rotty, or Boxer. He might have some Australian shepherd. They look a bit like that without their long hair.

Didn't see the mom. He came from a "farm" somewhere in Wisconsin apparently. The guy said his brother might have the info and that his dad might have been the one running the farm, idk. Incredibly sketchy I think it was a puppy mill scam.
He'll be a big boy then. Could match a GSD in size, anyway.
