I was sent stingray tail dog treats from a friend and I've never heard of it as a treat.. Does any one know if this a good or bad treat? The protien seems high, but I don't have any knowledge either way. It seems like a weird treat, but no matter what I type in I can't get any info on it. I would think some one knew a bit about it.

The package says it's free of chemicals, formaldehyde, ethoxyquin, no antibiotics, steroids, or growth promoters because the fish are not farmed. It's a natural product. It does include natural Chondroitin sulfate.

It also says "The treat is rich in natural minerals. Though the fiber content is less, a part of the protien is present as keratin, which acts as a non digestible fiber."

Thank you!

Only you, Teddy...LOL!

I tried looking, too - I found one place that calls it a holistic treat and NO info on it.

You're right, it sounds weird!

What can I say?

It was sent to my sister, but she doesn't have any dogs so I thought Ted would like it. He's on a pretty stict (only fish) diet right now, but the more I think about it I don't think I'll be feeding it. I can't find one good site talking directly about it as a treat. I'm now just curious if it's any good lol.

Thanks Sam.

Shadow loves them! They are called Ocean Chews. Ocean Chews (BOGO) (http://www.petextras.com/oceanchews.html - broken link)

Shadow has been eating these off & on for 2 years. She goes through phases.

That's just strange. I typed in all kinds of stuff and nothing would come up..I even tried "Ocean Chews" and it didn't pop up.

Thank you for posting that link!

If you have doubts, ask your vet.

Hey..finally got some info abt this fish treat. I happened to get hold of one and showed it to my vet. Interestingly, my vet started recommending it to his other customers after doing a few trials himself. It seems the treat has natural properties that even cures hair loss and gives bone strength. If I find any more info, I ll post it.
