Often my vet will match their price if I bring along a dated print out, right now I'm saving $55.00/month on Rimadyl.
I would caution you about using rimadyl on a long term basis.
Can cause liver damage.

Bob.

Bob.
Agree. I see long-term Rimadyl use as a last resort. My dog has been on it for over 2 years at this point for her elbow displaysia. According to her x-rays her displaysia is a 9/10 with 10 being the worst. I've tried everything else (including cold laser therapy) and she needs a pain reliever to keep her comfortable and have any quality of life. An NSAID along with Dasaquin and CBD oil seems to be the best combination for her. She may end up with liver failure but her quality of life is better.

IMO long-term NSAIDs can be appropriate IF it's what needed to keep a dog comfortable. A longer life lived in pain is not a desirable outcome in my book.

Bob.
Our vet feels the benefits outweigh the risks, but does order blood work every 3 months to be sure. Our (13.5 yr old)Lab went from crying nightly at the bottom of the stairs to being able to sleep happily in the hallway between the bedrooms.
