This dog showed up a couple months ago. I had made a couple posts about him in previous threads. But now that i finally had gotten a real picture of him i can ask freely. My dad and i had guessed maybe a Chow Chow Shepherd mix? though that was our wild guessing, still no sure on our guesses. I just wanted to get others' opinions in case someone knew a for sure breed or not.

His name is Cheeto, though sometimes goes by Freddy, Garfunkel, and "Puffy Dog". very affectionate, but has a thing for going to others' yards and bringing stuff from their yards home to us. & yes, the plastic coffee can was his choice dish, wont eat out of anything else. The black dog on the corner is my Simon Hucklebilly <3

Hi DontcallmeLizzy,
My WAG...I would say yes, on German Shepherd and no, on Chow Chow. I've had that mix of dog twice long ago. Each one was a burnt orange, mixed with black hair. Light brownish/amber eyes and black tongue. I don't see any Chow in this one at all. Cheeto is very cute and has mischeif in his eyes. Good luck!

shep x sammie might be a possibility, and i disagree with peirce, ive actally met a number of shep x chows that could be this dogs littermates (and their heratidge was known) remember chows come in colors other than red.

if your in a rural area i also wouldnt rule out shep x great pry

hes absolutly adorable though no matter what he is!!

Husky/Shepard maybe. The hair puffs out like a Husky.

May be a long shot, but looks like he's got the coloring/fuzziness of a Keeshond mix... also like the Shepherd idea. Beautiful dog

I also thought of the Keeshond/Shepherd mix. But who could really say, right? I've had my lab mix for almost 14 yrs now. And to this very day I still get "opinions" on what she's mixed with. It doesn't matter. My vet has always said that mutt's are basically healthier than purebred's anyway.

How big is Cheeto and does his tail flip up over his back? His ears do look like the ears one sees in the spitz type dogs as well as his coat and there are many breeds that are spitz some of them mentioned already. Check out this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spitz
as it shows many of them and maybe you will see something that looks alot like your dog.
