Britches is starting his live in his new forever home.
We packed up and left the house around 4pm and got there around 6pm. Traffic wasn't to too bad and Britches slept most of the way once he figured out this wasn't adoption day. When we finally got there and went inside he did a lot of sniffing around and then..he spotted Sarge. The look on his face looked like he may have crapped himself. He was looking up through the window at jowls. That's when the roo rooing started..It must be time to meet. Leashed (just to make sure at first all was well) they met and Britches did a lot of jumping on him. He's gotten used to playing with Buster that way, but Buster is much smaller. lol Within 10 minutes Britch was drool covered and looked like he'd been in swimming. He didn't seem to mind though and returned to playing. After they were getting along fine we let them off and the real fun started. Jumping, bounding through the grass, leaping through the air, licks, kicks, head swotts, grunts, and drool flying.. they both had so much fun.
Sarge is a 16 month old Great dane who weighs in at (I think) 140lbs compared to Britches at 8 months old and 40+lbs. But man does Britches give Sarge a run for his money! It was none stop running and playing until Britches finally went inside so we could finishe the paper work to final the adoption. I'm glad we waited until now to find the right home because this one couldn't be better; add a pool and it would come to a perfect T. lol But the hose in the backyard is just fine and made him feel right at home.
I don't have one single worry about this home. They are easy going, but know how to handle the dogs. The energy isn't a problem and Sarge was very happy with Britch there.
Britches went with his blankie, a bone, and food to last him for dinner and breakfast. He's set and seems to already be settling in. I'm glad I could have you all here to wittness his journey to his new home. It's one of the best feels I've ever had and the joy in both his new owners and big brother, his facial expression when it was time to go was so calming and almost like he knew it was time for him to start over in a forever home.
This is from before we went. It was getting cloudy out and I wanted those last few shots of him before he got in the car.
and they're off

Once inside he made himself right at home with a new stuffy
And not only does he have a new big brother..EX big brother he has a new sister too. Ms. Kitty. She's a rescue cat. She wasn't to sure about Britches and made sure to keep a VERY close eye on him when he first came in the hosue, but relaxed after just a short time. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!
