To him, spending money on a dog is like throwing money away. You just don't do it.
Shame on him! I just hope and pray the poor dog has an easy delivery w/o complications and find loving homes far away from your ex.

This situation makes me angry and upset.....as all the other million ones do!
I just checked myspace and read all the urgent rescue messages there...today is a bad day. Someone tied 3 emaciated pit pups to a shelter somewhere in Orlando...two died from being so starved. Someone went to pick up the one who so far has survived....sickening. I saw the pics.
I hope this chi will be ok....

Default You are not going to believe this

These people are messed up. Just talked to my daughter and now they are saying the mating happend when they evacuated for Gustav. That's 1 month ago at the most. Now saying the ex's wife is still trying to figure out if the chi is pregnant. I reinterated to my daughter that they should take her to the vet and all I got was silence. I said that's not going to happen is it? And she said not if her father has any say in the matter. I know the wife won't do it if he said no. I would....guess thats one of the reasons we aren't married anymore.

Question - They said that the teats were swollen. Does this happen when they come into heat? Apperently they didn't see the two dogs mate. When do female become fertile? The chi is about 10 months old.

It would be great if she was just in heat now. Obviously even if she isn't pregnant they still shouldn't own a dog but if she's just in heat, maybe this scare will make the wife think before she lets her be around an unaltered male.

I am so glad to be away from all the drama. I was married to him for 20 years and divorced now for 7. Life is so good now. Simple, quiet and calm.

Her teats c/b swollen if she's in heat now. She also c/b going thru a false pregnancy where they exhibit pregnancy symptoms, ie milk in teats, digging in their beds like they are nesting etc, their hormones are out of whack. Some dogs have split heats where they go into season several times a yr, not just twice. Spaying her would solve a lot of problems and w/b better for her in the long run. They could get it done reasonably thru Friends of Animals (FOA) or Spay USA, both of which can be googled for further info. They both need to look at the 'big picture' and hopefully one of them will step up to the plate, ignoring the problem isnt going to make it go away.
