I haven't been on here in awhile. Seems like I'm always...busy...busy...busy....

Were taking 1 of our dogs for yearlys. We have ALWAYS used Interceptor...we have NEVER had any problems with it. Vet says the company that makes Interceptor has been closed down. So he has taken it off his shelf. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..........................

Has anyone used

* Trifexis... for heartworm, kills fleas, controls adult hookworms, roundworms & whipworm infections.

Our other choice is...

*Advatage multi....basically takes care of the same issues.

I have to buy for 4 Larger dogs 89 plus pounds.

Any suggestions ???????????????????????????

Thanks....

Artie gets Heartgard Plus chewables, one on the first of every month. My finicky boy (your finicky nephew) eats it up like candy.

I'm surprised he didn't mention Heartgard. I think it's what most dogs use around here. I used Trifexis for a couple of months but one of my dogs, who has a sensitive stomach, vomited after the 2nd time she had it. Heartgard Plus has never caused a problem for any dog I've owned

its not that they cant have anything but inteceptor, its that some breeds have an ivermectin sensitivity theres PLENTY of other brands that can be used for dogs with the mutant gene...

my expereicne with triflexix made my little guy sick. vomiting seems to be a VERY common issue with trifexis an while some vets insist its "nothign to worry about" my opinion is why give a dog somehting that obviously oesnt agree with them.

ive heard good things about advantage multi but havent use it.

I personally use ivermectin (heartguard) based, but i dont have any dogs sensitive to it.

Ive also heard good things about vectra and revolution.

We will talk to vet tomorrow. From the research I've done & what friends have said.... were going to go with the Heartguard.

Thanks everyone....puppy hugs to all...
