Do a search.. there are other posts regarding diabetic dogs. Here is just one
//www.city-data.com/forum/dogs/...-diabetes.html

My cat's BSL was over 500.. It took a week at the vets to get it back to normal. I have her on insulin and she is doing great. I learned to give her shots twice a day. She doesn't mind them at all.

My dog began having problems such as this when she was 8 years old. Rushed her to the vet to find out that she had urinary incontinence. She has been taking Proin now for 5 years and we don't have a problem.

I feel for you I am going thru the same thing I just found out two wks ago my yellow lab has diabetes it was 500 when they tested her. She has been on insulin twice a day and in the vet's all day for glucose monitoring to checked her levels. I am still stressed out but, I know in time it will be better so try to hang in there as soon as they get her level down you will see improvement liked I did it just takes time. My baby is seven yrs old so we were really worried too. Good luck.
