Does anyone else have a camera shy dog? Most of our dogs have been camera HOGS! Our Chihuahua BEGS for the camera and wants take a pic taken of her. We had a Bichon growing up that would POSE for pics the second she saw the camera in someones hands and BEG for them to take a pic of her. But NOT the newest member of the family. He RUNS and hides when he sees the camera no matter what. ?????? I'm talking a SMALL digital camera too. Not some big huge camera w/ all kinds of zoom lenses are anything. It is smaller than the house phone and that doesn't bother him. He sees the camera though and he is GONE!

I've never had this happen, but I work with someone who adopted a rescue earlier this year and she tells the same story. We were so excited for her and couldn't wait to see pics. Well, she informed us that there won't be any pics - every time they pull out a camera (no matter what kind) the dog runs and hides. Guess you're not alone!

My dogs are camera shy too. They just don't feel like looking their best for a picture. Right now, we don't have a good digital camera plus it's usually just me with the dogs during the daytime. And I'm too busy holding on their leashes to have a hand free for a camera.

My female BC mix shrinks down when it comes to the camera, in fact most pics I have of her she looks like she's been beaten When I first got it I was able to use my cell phone, but she's caught onto that. So the only decent ones are when she's distracted by food

My male will run right and smile for the camera.

Jazz and Dash will sit nice for my camera but Jazz usually looks away when other people try to take her photo. When people try to take her photo in costume at the Big Dog parade and she turns away I tell them she is a pro and does not model for free.

My best Friend had a border collie that did not like her photo taken and would look like a beaten dog: However, I would use the love of her life a frizbee and get her attention and snap away and have some real beautiful photos of her. My friend was always amazed at the photos I have of her dog.

When I was at Best Friends I took the cutest dog on a walk , he was very camera shy too. He had been adopted and shortly after we got back from our walk his new mom was there to pick him up and she was trying to take photos and he wanted no part of it and bolted to go hide. I looked at her and said either he is wanted for a crime or thinks the camera is going to steal his soul.
