I need to buy a clipper/trimmer for my sheltie. I need to keep shaven, down to the skin, a small area beneath her right ear. She had ear surgery (both ears), and the suture on the right side will not stay closed, it keeps breaking open. It was repaired another 2 times. Both the vet and I do NOT want to make her endure that again, since the cause for the breaking wasn't evident the last time.
As a result, there is a constant discharge from that suture on the side of her head. I clean it 2x a day. It's difficult to keep it that way with all her hair, and scissoring just doesn't get it short enough. So, I need to get a clipper/trimmer with a #40 blade (what I have seen the vet techs use).
Can someone recommend a simple clipper/trimmer with a #40 blade?
I have heard Oster Brand is good, where does your dog go for grooming? They also may do it for you.
Dr smith and foster online etc., sell quality products. I do think most of the clippers do give you other blades.
I like my AG Super 2-Speed Detachable Plus it's also what clipper I use at work and you can buy different blades. I've found Petedge has the best prices and this is here I got my clippers from.
Teddie, in your opinion, how would a #10 blade do? Someone else on another forum suggested I use that instead, as it would be cheaper and still do the job.
I'll check Petedge. I checked Amazon, but I only found one clipper that actually mentioned the blade (30) that came with it.

Yes, the groomer would do it for me, but I want to do it at home so I won't get charged. I have to do it about every other week at least
