She urinated a normal amount this morning, but keeps walking around out there and doing the pee squat, but nothing's coming out. She finally settled down after an hour of periodic bouts of wandering around outside doing this dry urinating thing. She's never done this before.

Anyone ever seen this?

She's a ~6 year old APBT rescue I've had since Oct 07.

Sounds like a UTI (urinary tract infection). Vet ASAP.

I second that. UTI. Vet.

The few times that I've had a UTI, I kept feeling like I had to pee, but I couldn't. I imagine that your girl is feeling that same thing.

A bit of medicine and she'll be all fixed up.

Oy. It's only been two weeks since the last course of antibiotics for the vomiting/diarrhea. Back to the vet I go. Thank you everyone.

could be that the original course of antibiotics for the stomach issues upset the normal flora and fauna in her urinary tract..... making her susceptible to this secondary infection...... bless her (and your) heart.....

Minor UTI, caught early. More antibiotics. It pays to watch what comes out of your dog.

Hope all the anti-biptics don't cause the bad poops now. Glad the UTI was caught so fast. Yes it always pays to watch our babies.
