I must tell you since I also feed my dogs raw meat and bones...
Me too
I'm with DreamChaser on this one. A) Kibble, kibble and nothing but kibble .. well it always just seemed so boring to me - they never complained and never not ate, but I'd watch and think "sheesh, that's got to be dull". B) Time - I only feed once a day and it never seemed fair that all my very unfussy eaters were done in a nanosecond. They wait all day and .... "that's IT Lady?"
My dogs get a varying amount of kibble each day because I guage it around how much fat there is on the meat, how much meat, etc. etc. Just due to price, I tend to stick to beef which thankfully Oh-Allergic-One is not allergic to.
Now, in fairness, feeding raw is... well, a little contraversial because not all agree due to bacteria levels, etc. etc. If you're worried about that, a one minute dip in a boiling water (as recommended by Dr. Fox for this very reason) will kill bacteria without harming the nutrients.
If you do feed Artie bone, be prepared for much lighter coloured poop and it will dry to white and doesn't actually have much of an odor. Oh, and the dung beetles don't like it half as much as kibble only.

FiveHorses -- I'm not sure if you noticed my earlier response to you and DreamChasers8 earlier in this thread (yesterday at 6.08pm)... but this morning is Day #1. Fingers crossed!

It's the power of positive thinking you see.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Brilliant!!!
PS. I know it's not possible that he pooped out his 6.30am breakfast at 10.00am but the first, um, "stick" was in sections (a first!!!) and -- for Artie -- fairly firm. That's positive thinking too, right? Gotta go... my finger is itching to get onto Artie's forehead.

YAY for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Artie is five years old (I've had him for just under two years now) so I haven't experienced what you're feeling, but I am definitely enjoying the first semi-solid poop out of him since I can remember. He made another poop a bit an hour ago -- not quite as solid -- but I'm not concerned yet.

Better is GOOD! Even if it's never "perfect," an improvement is worth celebrating, IMO.
Annie only pooped twice yesterday. I'm still in shock.
Congrats.....but don't freak out if every single poop is not exactly the same...especially if you are going to start switching things up for a bit of variety...not to be gross (or too candid) but I don't think all of our poops are exactly the same and it's no big deal...I know TMI

TMI???? It's never TMI!!!!
I wasn't going to post until Monday -- or sometime this weekend if it continued to be good -- because I didn't want to jinx anything, but his last couple of poops were really good.
I'm not switching things up at all yet. He LOVES the Wellness Core, so that's what he's getting. And so far, so good!
Once we have a couple of good weeks in, MAYBE I'll give him a bit of variety. But he's not complaining so if it ain't broke, I ain't fixin' it.
Thanks for checking in... I've been thinking about you and MAK and FiveHorses, and have been itching to tell you some good news. More Monday! Or, um, this weekend.
