tick protection when hiking (shih tzu, vet, collars, spray)

We use frontline which kills ticks after they attach and is great for
controllling things in the yard...but...

when my son hikes with the dog he(the dog) is coming home covered in ticks...

Is there a spray or wipe that is safe with frontline that will help
while hiking????

kelly, hi. i don't know about sprays or wipes, but my vet specialist highly recommended preventic collars to me for my shih tzu after he contracted two different tick-borne illnesses...maybe these would help?

I second the Preventic brand collars. Your vet may have them or you can find them on-line at Jeffers Pet supply. There are other brands that are cheaper but they don't work any where near as well. If you're in CA then you have to get them from the vet.
