Hi Everyone

I switched my dogs to a whole food diet about 3 years ago. Well, actually I cheat a little, and feed them half whole food and half Science Diet. (I have 3 pretty good size dogs). So for those of you out there who feed their dogs whole food diets, what are your secrets? What type of food do you feed, and do you make any special treats?

Here's what I feed my pups: Oats, ground turkey, chicken, peas, carrots, vitamins and supplements, rice, flax seed oil, tuna, salmon, eggs and yogurt (my dogs love yogurt!).

I've been thinking of making some biscuits lately, so if you have any home recipes, feel free to share!

Thanks

i'd like to do this, but as a 20-year vegetarian i'm kind of squeamish about cooking meat.

i do feed my dog yogurt with her kibble though, and carrots as treats!

i don't feed her a fully vegan or vegetarian diet, but i do make these treats:

It's A Vegan Dog's Life

Thanks for the site! I added it as one of my favorites, there's a lot of good recipes on there.

Yes this should be a good topic, I have been doing this:

Raw Chicken, mostly either whole chicken or cornish hen, quarters, backs or thighs (usually whatever is on sale)

Beef Liver, turkey necks or wings, sometimes beef ribs or roast (if on sale)

And I like you, am still using kibble, just to get the nutrients that I think may be missed with just the raw

I'm a vegetarian too but I feed my dogs a raw diet. It grosses me out too but my husband helps me out with the real nasty stuff that I can't handle. I don't like doing it but I know it's what's best for them so I deal with it.
