I want to ship a dog from the UK to Hawaii...I have shipped 3 of my dogs from Washington State so i know all about the quarentine laws in Hawaii but i believe that the UK has their own quarentine laws and Im wanting to know if the laws are similar and if so would the entry to hawaii be easier since the dog is coming from the UK? pls. someone help me!!! i only have a few days to decide on getting this puppy...
You are shipping half-way around the world, literally. I don't know the answer to your question but I can't help but feel this will be traumatic to the puppy.

It sounds like you have room in your home, love, and time to train a puppy. Nice!

So many dogs are available at your destination and hope one will adopt you. Good luck to you!

I've known a lot of pups that were flown from the breeder to their permanent homes without ill-effect, but those were all relatively short, domestic flights that may have been five hours duration max.
London to Honolulu would be about 16 hours in the air, probably approaching 24 hours total travel time. To me, that seems like an awfully long time for a little pup to be confined to a travel crate without any human stewardship.

There is a huge, vast difference between flying an existing pet(s) halfway around the world because it's a cherished and beloved pet who is bonded to you/your family and the family, en toto, is moving versus doing this to a young pup that you've only just got when you knew you'd be leaving.
The former makes perfect sense and despite all that's posted here, I've done it numerous times without incident. However, it is NOT cheap.
The latter makes no sense at all to me. What? There's a dog shortage in Hawaii?
It makes no sense unless the puppy is a valuable titled showdog the OP is purchasing for a breeding program which is doubtful it usually takes months and months to achieve most titles - even then I'd look more locally (or even in CA which is more doable) or would speak to other local Hawaiian breeders who may have purchased on the mainland. Unfortunately, there's very little info to give much of an opinion (other than not to do it given the little info we do have).
I would think you would need to check with the airlines involved also, and the State of Hawaii for their regulations on bringing an animal from out of the country. Plus I agree with the above, sounds very traumatic for the puppy. Then to be in quarantine for what is it? 3 Months? 6 Months?
That is a heck of a long ways to ship a dog. With Hawaii's laws it will be in quaranteen awhile, which has to be pretty stressful period, nevertheless after flying to far.
