Does it seem weird or funny to have a song that means a lot to you and makes you think of your dog that is sick? I do. It is Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Middler. Is it funny to sing to your dog as well?

I'm having this situation with my 15 year old dachsund. He is in final stage of congestive heart failure. Furtunately I have an awesome vet who's prescribed 4 different meds for him he's been on for the past 2 years. He's been having seizures now from following me upstairs and it's too much for him. The first couple I panicked and rushed him to the vet and they saved him but the last few I'm handling it more calmly I feel like he's trying so hard for me because I begged him not to leave me but I realize now that's just being selfish and my only wish for him is to be at peace with no suffering. It's a very difficult choice for me right now because he's had an ongoing skin infection that he can no longer fight off no matter what meds I've gotten for him. Hes still eating and has some good days but always tired and his teeth are in really bad shape and I know they hurt. I've done everything I can for him and I know he'll let me know when he's ready to go. But I fight with myself over it because I can't get in his head and make the right decision.

Jake has been doing a lot better ever since the vet had added another medication to him. He is on Lasix and Enalapril. Jake's coughing a lot less then before. He has been eating a lot more as well as drinking more water. I just sure hope that he keeps this up. I was very worried when I had to leave him with a friend of mine to go to my sisters wedding. He did very well while I was gone with the friend I had stayed here with him. But when I got home. Jake went nuts when he had seen me. He has not left my side since then. I sure did miss his kisses and cuddling with me as well. :-)

Hey! I am very confused to as why my dog just had a major accident on peeing on the floor on his way outside to go potty. Is this normal for a dog that is on Lasix and Enalapril with an enlarged heat? Is this a sign that he is getting ready to pass on? Please help. I am very very confused here.

Hey! I am just taking one day at a time and enjoying my time that I have left with Jake. I have been petting him, Loving on him, taking him on car rides, taking him for short walks and taking a lot of pictures of him with everybody that he spends time with .

I know that his time is very limited here left with me and my family. So we are going to make the best of it. I have been spending a lot of time with my female Dachshund Jazzmine as well. I know she is going to be last without her beloved Jake. They are very close to each other.

I want to thank everybody for their comments, posts and even the advice that has been given by everybody on here.

My little Macey a Shih tzu has just been diagnosed with CHF. Her heart murmur is a 6 with 6 being the highest. I cannot get her to eat anything except a few treats. Any suggestions?

I am having a very confusing day here today. I had sat down and talked to my husband about putting Jake down this Friday morning. He was alright with it at first. Then he had changed his mind. He wants to wait until next Friday before we make the final decision on what is best for Jake. I am having a very hard time eating and sleeping at night. I don't want to wake up in the morning and find Jake had passed away during the night. Is this a normal thing that I am going through?

Default Very confused

My dog Jake just had a major accident on his pillow and the side of the bed he sleeps. I am talking about it not being a spot where he has peed. It smells a whole lot different then pee.

What shall I do about this? I cannot yell or correct him for this. This is the first time he has ever done anything like this.

Any good suggestion on what I should or should not do about this?

Is it time to put him down or else call the vet about this?
