We've adopted a Dachshund.

We got him yesterday. He was a rescue. He was being starved to death!!!!

He needs to gain a little weight...

He's 2 years old...

We spent some time with him before taking him home. I wanted to see how he interacted with 2 out of the 3 kids we have.

He's so gentle. Is housebroken(although he had 2 accidents) I'm sure it was from being in a new house. He's done good after the accidents.

My kids absolutely love him. He's very gentle with them, as they are with him.

He loves to run through piles of leaves and chase them around the yard.

I'm hoping to get him a playmate down the road.

His name is Oscar....

Ohhh, so cute! Thank you for giving him a home. How anyone could be so cruel is beyond me, to starve a dog.

Bless his heart...It won't take long to fatten that baby up...Looks like he got a good home and having had a Doxie before, you just adopted a pet that will be fiercely protective of his owners...They like to dig too...:>)

Bless your heart for adopting Oscar. He's a lucky boy and you and your family will have many loving years with him as part of the family.

He has the sweetest face. What a cutie.

Super cute!! I love doxies but they don't do well with rabbits (we have 2 buns). Have fun with him.

Thanks all. I feel blessed to have this little guy.

I don't understand how anyone could starve such a sweet lil guy, or any other animal.
