My once perky lab is getting older and slower - a friend who also has an older dog recommended supplements that could help keep him pain free and mobile. My friend recommended Joint Health Plus from PetCareRX - what other supplements would you recommend?

I give my dog vitamins... not sure of the brand, we buy them at Wal-Mart.

We've had all our Goldens on over the counter Gluscomine for years. Recommended by our vet years ago. One a day ...it takes a few weeks to build up in their system, and helps the elder dogs joints.

I have found that liquid glucosamine works ALOT better then any pill or powder form. I have heard it is better absorbed by the body when it is in liquid form. Jazz has been getting Sny.flex for about 8 week now and there is a big improvement in her hips. She is even jumping up on the bed again. They do make a human form and next time I order some I plan to get some for me and see if my hips and knees feel better too.

Thanks for the info on the liquid glucosamine. One of my rescues has had 2 knee surgeries and the vet recommended it to prevent possible arthritis as she gets older. I currently give her the pill form.

My 13 year old dog has been on Glucosomine for about 2 years now. Her vet recommended it when she was having some mild arthritis. I buy a big jar of them at BJs and cut it up into small pieces and she eats it with her dinner.
