We have a basenji- cattle dog mix. If I knew how to show pic I would do so. I am wondering if anyone else has the same mix?

I'm sorry, I didn't see your response. I am new and I really don't know my way around yet. But anyways I followed your instruction and got as far as copy the code. The line that has the code for message boards, I tried to highlight it and copy but to no avail. And when you say to paste message here, where is here? I do apologize for being dense. Thanx again for your help.

I've never even heard of that breed...

I'd love to see a pic, though!

The basenji historically functioned in a similar role as the black-mouth cur in America; they were African bay dogs for hunting large game.

Widely known as the "barkless" dog, although they can and do bark - just infrequently. *EDIT* - REALLY infrequently.

Hannah -- Oh, don't apologize! Please.

To copy that field: Double-click anywhere in that box. Then right-click and select Copy.

By pasting it here: I mean wherever in this thread or on this forum that you want your photo to appear. Do that by right-clicking here (in this box where you're typing) and select Paste. You'll just see the garble of code, but once you press Submit (to post your text), the photo will appear.

MA -- My friend had a pure-bred Basenji. Cute dog. SWEET dog. And they don't bark. Basenjis don't bark. Can you imagine? (Artie can't imagine that at all. Sadly.)

My sister had Basenjis for years, most unique dogs. Her daughter has one. They may not bark but they yodel and grumble.

A barkless dog...who knew!! Beesley only barks when he's outside on the patio and wants to come in, and that's one single bark ever every minute or so at that.

Were they bred to not bark? How does that happen?! I'm fascinated...
