i got my dog a week and a half ago and he tends to sneeze a lot...more when outside. vet said its prob just allergies, but i told her id watch him more

most of the time he sneezes and nothing comes out, but sometimes it does. i've noticed sometimes he'll sneeze stuff out on my couch or floor so i've been cleaning it up but would prefer not to have dog snot on random things. plus its prob good for him if hes not sneezing!

i got a follow up with the vet in a week and a half where ill ask why hes sneezin again. any ideas of things i can try or why he might be sneezing? other then this he is a perfectly happy and healthy dog. the sneezing doesnt seem to cause much discomfort or anything

Allergies are a horribly common ailment in dogs, especially during this time of the year.

The easiest remedies are:
Switching to a grain-free food. A lot of dogs can't handle grains and they may cause allergies--this includes the treats you give them. Make sure they're grain free!
Wash the dog with an oatmeal or hypoallergenic shampoo. Not that $5 crap you buy at Petsmart.
Ask you vet if it's wise to give your dog Benadryl. He/she will tell you the correct dosage.

My dog has severe allergies, and is currently on a perscription antihistamine and steriod combo. Dog allergies are not really fun to deal with.

MAthebanker knows her stuff!
Don't forget that if your dog loves to play on his back, that could be the culprit! At least that's my experience with my mini schnauzer. I have to turn him over after a while because he won't stop sneezing and he wants to keep on chilling on his back!
