Taking the family up to the Island View Resort in Knife river the first week of August. I'd like to get an idea of the fishing opportunities there, and have a few questions. Is fishing any good in the Knife River? If so, what to fish for and what to use? Also, can you fish Lake Superior from shore with any success? We'd be willing to drive a little ways for some decent fishing. Any advice is much appreciated.

Luke I dont think the fishing is good in the Knife River especially at this time of year, and the shore fishing at this time of year on Lake Superior around here is not good the fish are in deeper water now, so the inland lakes would be your best bet perhaps for walleye, sunnies or panfish is good northern pike also.

Winter Fall and Spring the fishing is good near shore Lake Superior, now go into inland lakes for the fishing, dont waste your time on the Knife though

call local bait shops for the specifics Marine General or tackle shops they have the best advice and know the local fishing facts the best

Ditto. The fish are no longer spawning in the rivers, so there's been absolutely zero fishing activity in any of them. 3 months ago, there were lines of cars parked along North Shore Drive at all hours of the day and night, but as Demtion said, the fish have all moved into deeper water by now.
