Looking to move this spring, but wondering about the various rental companies in town. We are with ECDI right now and more than unimpressed with them. Any thoughts on the best/worst rental companies and property management companies in the Duluth area? I would also include private parties that rent one or two places but are not a "company" per se.

I live in Deerfield Townhomes in Hermantown -- managed by Mid Continent Management Company. I wouldn't recommend this place at all, as I am currently looking for another place to rent after my lease is up. I pay $970/month, which is pretty average for this area I would say. At first glance, the places look relatively new, but when you take a tour, you'll notice a lot of dated items and the buildings aren't in great shape. It's certainly NOT worth the $970 I pay per month, and that does not include utilities or anything (just trash I think). Their maintenance crews get to the problems pretty quickly though, and I really haven't had too many problems with the place. I just think these condos are way overpriced for their age and quality.
