St. Lukes vs. Essentia (Duluth: obgyn, insurance, living in)

Hello - I am looking at getting an OBGYN in Duluth but I'm not sure where to go. I've heard that St. Luke's is better but I wanted to get people's opinions. Thank you!

I liked both. Due to where I worked, my first child I used St. Luke's. Great doctor, great experience. She was on vacation when my baby was born and I didn't really care for the doc who delivered in her place. The experience at the hospital was nice except for the fact that I had to share a bathroom and the woman I shared it with had her husband with her the whole time and they often forgot to unlock my side.

Due to where I worked, with my second child, I went to the Duluth Clinic/St. Mary's. Great doctor, great experience. She was at a conference when my baby was born, and I really liked the doc who delivered in her place. The experience at the hospital was nice. I didn't have to share a bathroom there.

I personally found them both to be wonderful experiences and would pick neither one over the other. If I were back living in Duluth, I'd probably have to flip a coin to choose as long as insurance allowed. Everyone's experiences are different, of course, but I think they were both great places. FYI, it's been more than a decade since these experiences.

St Lukes hands down! Had both of our kids with them and it was a great experience.

I had 4 of my 7 at St. Mary's and would recommend it.
