Was looking at Google Maps at the Proctor area and there appears to be a large train yard there. Wondering how that might affect the area in terms of noise and air pollution. There is a large train yard in the town where I currently live and it is a dead zone with extensive groundwater contamination of surrounding neighborhoods, excessive noise from train horns and diesel air pollution from trains idling in the yard. Any info appreciated, thanks.

Which is of course the CN now. My father used to work for the CN and commuted often between Proctor and Two Harbors. He never noted anything about air quality or noise pollution. I'll ask him next time I have a chance.
