One more thing I saw! Yesterday I was driving past the former Unicel space on Central Entrance and saw that some work has started on it. Major work. They have two dumpsters and are tearing off part of the outside (the awkward white... piece). I Wonder what is going in!

I haven't seen any posts here or the Mall thread for weeks. Is there no good news for retail or dining in Duluth or has everyone lost interest? Is the Greendale project dead? When is BB&B opening?

No word of the Greendale project. BB&B is moving along. I heard they would be open by fall? Anyone else no different? Overall not a tone going on although I have seen some stuff going on with the old DQ on london road. Anyone know of whats going on there?

Holappa's website shows 2 spaces have been leased at Denfeld center. Any ideas? Also is there still a pizza place going in where Northern Lights bookstore was-is it local or part of a chain?

There is a pizza place going in down in the old Northern Lights space. Looks very cool! No clue if it's local or not.

The bike shop Stewarts on Superior Street between 15 and 16th av. E., is moving out west near the Clyde in around August of this year. In the space they are leaving there may be a Anytime Fitness going in there.

Has anyone heard anything about this??

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I posted. OK, I have no idea if this is just idol rumor, but I wanted to put it out here in case anyone else has heard of this. A friend of the family says that they have it from a VERY reliable source that Trader Joe's is on it's way, and that it would be somewhere in the 'plaza' area. Do you think it would make any sense at all if it went in the soon-to-be abandoned old Walgreen's? When asked, she said she can't say who, but that it was going to happen. Just wanted to know if anyone else has heard anything at all? I would FLIP to have this happen!

While I don't know about Duluth, I do know that soon after the rumors started about Trader Joe's coming to Rochester it was made official. People heard it from employees in the Cities that they were opening here, so I would not be the least bit surprised if that they are coming to Duluth.
