Hey everyone,

Just found out that the dumpster is NOT for Five Guys, but they hope to begin construction within 60 days. They plan to be open in October. Sounds like a great time considering it's the Holiday Season.

Wonder if the dumpster was for another spot, or maybe the mall is just clearing some stuff out to make room for them?

Great! At least we have an idea of when they aim to begin construction and open. Glad to see that they are still planning on opening in Duluth.

I know the dumpster has been there a few times before. I am not sure if it is for Champs new location or if they mall is planning on beginning construction on an interior tenant in the redevelopment or what. But I guess we will just have to let time pass and see what happens.

Thinking about Five Guys, even though their stores are nothing special inside, I think its more of the fact that we will have one. Its kind of a big deal to get a Five Guys. They tend to only go in higher end markets. So good for Duluth!

By the way, Five Guys just opened its SECOND location in Edina. They are working on more, Duluth looks to be the possibly the third location in Minnesota. But that could be pushed back being currently Five Guys is planning to open and are in the talks with TWENTY FIVE different locations in Minnesota. Whoa.

The Maurices store does not open till July 11th. The storefront will most likely be revealed about a week or half a week before the store reopens.

Could Eddie Bauer be closing? I guess we will have to see when the announcement of which locations will close when Eddie Bauer closes some its 371 locations. Lets hope Duluth's can live the cut.

if they close it would free up a large really un necesarry space..maybe room for a large remodel of radio shack moving down there and pac sun udating and enlarging there space while the rest of the upper level is turned into an express , banana republic, or H&M

Well if Eddie Bauer did close I could see a larger store going in there such as Banana Republic, Express or Cache going in there. It would not be a large enough space for an H&M. Also it would depend on the current economic times, because a lot of the clothing retailers are not expanding.

The mall for sure is clearing out the Five Guys space. The door is always open and there are workers hauling stuff out of that space everyday. The dumpster has to be a retailer going in the redevelopment.
