Looking for cheapest places to shop for groceries, mostly. Maybe restaurants too. There is an Aldi store, and that is probably the best you can get. And a Qdoba, which is great in my book. Not looking for rich or meaty foods. Any other tips for living there on a budget?

And how do people survive the hilly streets in winter?

Some streets during certain times are avoided going up or down for a few days, but there are many ways to get around them by going another way. Sometimes however there are cars that do slide through stop signs and through out into intersections. There are other times when cars make it only halfway up, or slide out and just sit there unable to gain forward movement. Some of the steeper roads you learn just to avoid them for a few days though.
