I saw the story on Fox 21 news from Duluth. I also drove down there and saw them tearing the old marina down. It sounds like it is full steam ahead come April!

Just saw it online on Foxe's site. I never knew about the pool down there. They want it done by the end of 2012, they probably will be working on it day and night.

I have heard that the AT&T building in downtown Duluth has been vacant since at least this past summer. I wonder what could be done with that one, with that bland tower. I always dreamed that tower would be sheethed with a higher quality material like limestone or granite and an observation floor be put on top of it. I saw the Meyer Group Architects website and their portfolio lists "Wells Fargo Tower Pre-Design Duluth, Minnesota" I wonder if WF wants to build an entirely new headquarters or refurbish the existing building downtown? I also noticed that Essentia moved some of its oxygen equipment and other infrastructure to a different area, much like St. Lukes did last year for their new building. Does anyone know if Essentia or the Duluth Clinic is planning any new expansions or new buildings? I seem to learn far more from City Data that the news outlets up there!

The AT&T building down town is not empty at all.
AT&T runs all of the land lines threw there and it is home to the areas engineers, it is fill of all sorts of computers and employes.
AT&T (cellular)has moved out of the tech center and all remaining employes are now working in the AT&T building downtown.
The only thing AT&T left in the tech center is the switch( AT&T maintains a large computer room in the buliding)

What is happening with the AT&T tower? The siding on it is coming off in the front. Are they replacing it? Or are they working inside of it? Or is it falling off and they won't or cannot fix it. I have always wished they would doctor that tower up a bit, it's pretty boring!

The panels blew off during the February 29th blizzard.
