Yep, only weird I recall of California was the little arrows pointing downward to indicate where to hit the entrance ramp to the highway.

Thing I LOVE about rural Texas is the way folks (and me too) will pull over on the wide the shoulder to let you pass.

Rural-- everyone waves and is friendly. Texas city driving tends to be assholier than thou. And often very bicycle hostile.

Well, it may be a better fit. But seriously....the idea of a french youth in Texas is just amusing. Maybe they can make a reality show about his adventures in Texas. The culture are just so different.

I've seen people do this when driving cross-country but I don't remember where. I thought it was odd, definitely not something I've seen in the states I've lived in.
