Yep, we should just let everyone die slowly that hasn't found a job.

I love postings like this, because you know people like this cowered when their positions were at risk. Then got bold when their jobs were no longer on the chopping block. Just because they don't need it this time, no one else should ever need it. Complete 180 if they ever did.

Why not old people too? They take social services. Hope you don't get old then.

If I could collect unemployment for 99 weeks, I wouldn't be looking for a job until week 98.

Darn, you are right!

Lets expand the unemployment benefits to 10 years then right? That will get America rolling again!

I know people in that situation...most of them didn't look outside their metro areas. Sometimes you have to be willing to move where the jobs are. Conduct your search nationally, and if you dont have skills, then figure out how to get some (volunteer/vo-tech/community college).

In retrospect, we paid the bankers BIG $$$ for doing even less than nothing. We could pay unemployment to every citizen ( even the illegals ) of the entire country for a long, long, time, and barely scrape the bottom of the bucket containing the wad of cash we paid to those greedy, control freak thugs. IMO, resentment of any kind is a useless waste of energy, but if we must express resentment, let us direct it toward the bankster thugs who are robbing us blind.

I have a SIL that has a teaching degree. BUT..she only wants to teach in one school close to her house. Hasn't worked in 2+ years since getting that degree. She only applies to that school.

Does she deserve 99 weeks of checks ????

Who deserve what is not for you or I to determine. I don't think our opinions and/or judgements matter all that much. There are unseen forces at play behind the scenes. Sometimes they mesh with our preferences, and sometimes they make no sense at all. On ocassion, the best way to keep ones sanity intact is to see it all as a cosmic joke, and simply enjoy a big belly laugh.

I don't think it works like that . . . never been on it, but from what I think I follow of it . . . .

First, you had to have a job.

Second, you had to be laid-off due to no fault of your own and be eligible and willing for re-hire if offered.

Third, you actively have to be looking for work -- I think I have heard at least 3 to 5 places per week.

Your SIL is doing none of those. But you probably already know all this?

HT, You are a little too sharp to start a strawman debate . . . whatsup on that?
