Having live in both Sweden and the U.S. My take in all of this is that if you have money and good insurance you are better off in the U.S. There are many things that Americans should learn from Europeans and vice versa, nowhere is perfect. But to beat the drum that the U.S. is greatest country due to the free market without really living in the socialist model is ignorance at best. A completely free market will just result in greed overruling morality. Just look at the latest Wall Street banking fiasco.
It is just one source, there were many more that proved that the United States has better survival rates then Europe.

just think about that when you say, "we should tax the rich" or some other genius program that is suppose to be implemented by the government. In the end, big government will always be a failure simply because the politicians sell out to special interests. Obama's universal healthcare plan will never work simply because special interests will scam most of the money before it ever gets to you (in the form of services). This is happening at ALL levels or government, some more than others. When you break it down, after factoring in all the scamming, we would have been better off limiting government and letting individuals keep their money instead of sending it to Washington.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
"We should tax the rich" does not sound like a nation behaving with good intentions.
