I am so sick of hearing how it is a global economy. It is not. Other countries make stuff or drill for stuff or grow stuff and WE BUY IT!!!.Once that slows down we will see how "GLOBAL" this economy. THe reason china has us cash is we shipped it over and they shipped over a bunch of plastic crud that for some reason Americans are enamored with.. The fact that the market will not get hurt too bad by a US slowdown is a myth. WE REALLY ARE THE WORLD FOLKS. We suffer...everyone suffers

uh-oh. someone is waking up during the operation, huh?

Global-this and Global-that are really "marketing" terms. So I usually just call it Globalony. There are various "top end" groups that promote and sell it and some that profit from it. The early promoters can be found here:

Council on Foreign Relations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It expanded to include most US Transnational Corporations, and upper-level government types, including the fully-owned subordinate corporations such as both the Republican and Democratic National Corporations.

The little people see it in the form of NAFTA, GATT, WTO, Trans-Texas Corridor, and jobs being out-sourced overseas. All things the average American does not support, but "somehow" keep being put into place because "The Global /insert market agenda term here/ (TM) is Inevitable." As Goebells observed, tell a lie often enough and it may be believed.

On the kinder side, it is driven by the belief that extreme Nationalism (e.g. Nazi Germany and Japan) were the underlying cause of major wars, so to undermine the independent strong nation-states (e.g. the United States) is to ensure world peace.

On the profit side it is considered great because the top-end gets to play off the inequalities -- there is always great profit and energy to be found at the boundaries of inequalities -- and get to manipulate local laws in most countries to ensure the profitability. Because they control the international transaction, profits get swept directly to the top.

The model comes out that some areas are zoned production fields, and some as the "big house." What is not to love about the Global Plantation?

Now go back to sleep. That is all a bunch of conspiracy talk. Nothing to see, Move along.
