with freedom you can create wealth. With no freedom your wealth gets taken away from you.
Hence the reason socialist countries/dictatorship countries have the lowest standard of living and highest income disparity. All the wealth gets stolen and transfered to the inner party meanwhile the workers have no incentive to produce, other than to survive.
How much is Freedom worth to you, in real dollars? Read the terms carefully:
Suppose you were offered a deal. Give up all your constitutional rights, forever, in exchange for double your income for the rest of your life. Everybody gets to opt in or out. Those who don't take the deal, retain their freedom of speech, press, religion, due process, bear arms, and can keep on voting. That doesn't mean you are denied ever speaking your mind or owning a gun or worshiping, you're just not guaranteed the right anymore. You can still live your life the way you do now, but the government can deny you those rights if they want to, you just have to trust them, and maybe keep your head down. But your income is doubled.
Are you in or out?
I'll take the cash. We're not free anyway. Every day we lose more and more freedom through legislation or our own apathy.
This reminds me of that scene in the first matrix movie where the guy who betrays the group was talking to Agent Smith while eating a fancy meal talking about having wealth if he were to go back into the matrix.
Freedom is far more important because you can always gain wealth, without freedom wealth can be easily taken away.

If your freedoms are gone, they can take your wealth any time they want.
The whole POINT of being wealthy is to offer you MORE freedom and MORE control of your life.
So the question doesn't make sense...it's like, "Would you rather walk or get an extra foot?"
Besides, with all the idiots who are going to choose double the cash, what my dollar will buy will be diluted.
