Paint all Obama supporters with a broad brushstroke and call them stupid regardless of their education, experience, or beliefs. Brilliant.

Respectful debate is a dying breed in America.

You just now figuring that out? Mudslinging is a high volume/high dollar spectator sport. Anyone who remains articulate, respectful, and is willing to "meet halfway" is laughed offstage as a "soft boob".

This is firmly ingrained in our culture. It's always been "my way or no way". And the more drama, fireworks, outbursts, and name calling, the better. Why do you think the Jerry Springers and Howard Sterns of the world got as popular as they did? For their intellect? F-no. It's because of their antics, which in and of itself is a cause for attraction regardless of actual content.

and why you can sell tickets to a boxing match in a 50,000 arena but not to a hundred seat venue holding a chess tournament.

More insight here?

What makes you think that Mustang84 would be a "liberal?"

Is anyone who is "insane. so angry and emotional," a liberal?

and you think mustang84 seems, "insane. so angry and emotional?"

Really trying to understand the train of thought, here.

Thanks.

I don't need the government to save my money for me or decide when I get to use it.

As to the op's question, they will raise the debt ceiling and we are still up a creek without a paddle.

The debt ceiling is going to be raised which means more spending and the dollar going more into the toilet... I really see a HUGE risk to the USD losing it's place as the reserve currency. I am traveling in Chile at the moment... 2 years ago the exchange rate was 630 Chilean pesos to the US dollar, today it's 455!!! a 28% drop, against the Chilean Peso!!! and the US dollar continues to just keep freefalling against every currency I have seen...

Looks like a deal has been reached!!!

$900 billion in spending cuts over 10 yrs and a $2.4 trillion increase in the debt limit. Sounds pretty phony to me. I doubt any of the spending cuts will remain in place as they will be very unpopular, I see a new crisis to increase the debt limit again sometime in the future.
