seems like i am losing it, paraniod of the water - when was the last time the "clean" incomming water pipes were replaced in your home? mine at my house on the west side hadnot been updated scince the house was erected in 1939......and if they had been whoever did the work didnt get a permit from the city for the work......hmmmm
how much does the ceramic filter cost? and is it installed on the plumbing or source of your water? or is it a do it yourself type?
It's free standing, gravity fed... There are others like the berky, but I'd rather buy American made. Also the aquarain filters out smaller particulates.

If you are on a municipal water system, then it's likely treated to Fed standards which would include some sort of anti-bacterial treatment. Chlorination is pretty standard. So cleaning out your delivery pipe is most likely not needed.
FWIW, you could take your own tap water samples and have them tested for contaminants so you'd know for sure what you are consuming and what treatment might be required to mitigate the water quality.
I wonder how many people actually drink their tap water?
