I mean the time where the US was the envy of the rest of the world in pretty much every area... from education to commerce to pop culture... the time when the US was looked upon as the promised land, the place that people from other areas of the world dreamed of coming to... when it was the brightest beacon in the world.

No, we will now need to divide the world GDP as new power centers have emerged. We'll do better than the majority of the world will, but top of the heap..no..that is behind us. It was largely caused by being an oligoply post WWII as Europe and Japan were in ruins, and China was undeveloped. This new era is reality.

What dip, the whole world is dipping with us. The same parasitic bankers who crippled our economy were busy losing bundles in europe on currency swaps. The world will recover when they start dragging the 1% off in handcuffs

Are more Americans moving to India or more Indians moving to America? How about China?

There's your answer.

I think a period of relative decline with countries such as India and China is pretty much inevitable. I still think America will remain a relatively strong country but its period of greatest strength is over.

Greetings,

Interesting to read some of the throw in the towel, wimpy, give up the ship, prophets of doom posts regarding this great nation as a "has been", never gonna return to it's former glory and we should just go right ahead and let ourselves become a bannana boat republic like so many of the screwy liberal loons would like to see happen !!!

Don't you looney blighters count on America going down the tubes anytime soon !

There are too many good folks who have fought and died in our proud and brave military to allow this nation and it's "Free" people to survive ..... to preserve our posterity ! Too many still with us today who want to see our greatness continue !!!

Yes America will begin the long road back to "Being On Top" very soon ..... right after the 2012 Prezeedintial elections are over and the "Nightmare" in the ole "Yankee WH" takes the night train outta Dodge !

Long live America ! ...... The "Greatest Nation" on the face of the earth !!!!! Can Ya Dig It Loonies ! .....

Have a nice evening mates ! ... Cheers ..... Ole Sgt. Lamar

The poll does not give me a logical answer.

The world is fast becoming one big place. Electronic communication has us all within a few milliseconds reach. I don't believe that the previous "glory days" will ever return, but that something much different will happen globally.
