I don't blame the workers, I blame management who couldn't manage.
I heard the top executives had recently voted themselves several million $$ in raises and the workers had already taken a pay cut, maybe it was last year. This time they were to take another pay cut, pay quite a bit more for health insurance, and get screwed over with their pensions.
Why doesn't management take any responsibility? I'm not normally pro union but really, this doesn't sound like fair play and it's not a respectable way to do business.
Some people seem to think they are entitled to a job and forgot the old term "Never bite the hand that feeds you".
Times are tough all over be it for management or workers.......still tough.
Not tough for management, they gave themselves BIG Fat 80% raises in 2011, and that was only disclosed due to a legal issue over the last CEO leaving the company. Since it owned by a group of private investors and not a public company, who knows what kind of big fat raises they were giving themselves every year they were cutting the union workers salary and benefits at the same time. Maybe it's Managements Huge salaries that are really causing the company to fold.
