So... tonight for the second or third time out of ~2 years, Bank of america randomly charges me a $8.95 fee for no reason. which means this is the second or third time I go through recorded messages to talk to someone about this fee.

After talking with the representative
I hear the old "I apologize about this mistake sir, it seems this fee has been charged by accident. I will reverse it immediately"

but this time, im gonna get compensation for minutes of my time... I ask somewhat jokingly, the guy on the phone to give me "comp". I feel like this guy has a slight accent and may be out of country. So he might not get the joke but anyways, he gives me credit for the next time I need a debit card or checks.

oh well... dont let anyone take your money for no reason guys.

peace!!111!

I use a credit union.

My checks and debit cards are always free...

A likely human error and you think the company is evil? Why not give your business to a non-evil bank then.

Wouldn't "Bank of America and their screw-ups" have been more accurate? Those sorts of screw-ups, althought they can be irritating as hell, do not rise to the level of evil. Glad to have your explanation, however. The thread title did make me look. LOL

Not likely an error.

Repeat this "error" thousands of times, and figuring that only maybe 1 in 10 customers even notice or complain, and half of those do not get the returned credit . . .

Fraud, err ah "errors" work out to become nice little profit centers.

Incompetence would have been my choice rather than evilness.

Credit Unions only here. Big banks need to find a shady way to take your money so they can continue paying their CEO's millions of dollars every year.

Change banks, Obama does not make you stay with BOA no matter if he does borrow their money.

I use a locally owned / run bank. I can walk right in and talk to a real person who cares.

Even credit unions or locally owned banks can make mistakes. Does not make them evil as well.
If anyone sees a mistake, call it in.
