Well that would mean the US dollar drops in value and inflation rises to unpayabe levels for most people.

Since the Senate Dems don't want to do their jobs -the jobs they were elected to perform- why don't they resign and let some Republican law-makers take their places in providing the checks and balances needed against this demagogue Obama?

Obama's profligate spending is what is ruining this country's credit. He refuses to discuss spending cuts because he has NO plans on reducing spending. He figures that he has only 2 years, or 4 at most, to force his Socialist agenda on the American people. Then he can go back to Kenya, or Chicago, and live out his days as a Tribal Chieftain. Of the $16.5 trillion debt rung up by the USA, Obama is responsible for 35% of it. That is more than the first 43 presidents combined.
The US Senate, dominated by Democrats, is being sabotaged by Republicans' abuse of the filibuster rules to bring the work of the Senate to a standstill. Democrats are trying to "do their jobs" but Republicans are putting party before country in a treasonous fashion to bring the nation to its knees again as they did during the George W. Bush administration.

Speaking of George W. Bush, his administration's policies are the reason for the "profligate" spending needed to dig this nation out of the huge hole Bush and the Republicans dug. You should be thanking Obama for averting a full out Depression.

And speaking of the country's credit, it was the Republicans whose callous obstructionism caused our nation's first ever credit downgrade, costing us billions more in payments on debt.

You need to drop the BS talking points and enter the realm of reality.

Teak,

Let's see what happens now:

Senate Democrats say they will oblige GOP calls to pass budget, warn it will include taxes - The Washington Post

Senate Democrats say they will oblige GOP calls to pass budget, warn it will include taxes

I'll bet the Republicans do exactly as they've done in the past and filibuster this budget too.

Then Republicans and people like you will say the Democrats don't have a budget.

It must be nice to be able to play both sides of the issue but not as nice as it once was, based on the results of the last election. People are on to Republican diatribe and transparent tricks. Keep it up and your election defeats will only get worse.

If they don't learn from their mistakes then Republicans better learn how to cope with losing.

I can just imagine trying to get change for that. Shopping checkout, "Hey, can you break a trillion?"

Too complicated for Teak to understand.

We can print all the money we want, I have some old german reichmark notes of like $1,000,000 value from back between WW1 and WW2 as an example. It was probably enough to buy a loaf of bread.

Could you steal a trillion dollar coin? If it is essentilly worthless, what would be the point? Plus they could always say " Now its worthless."
Why don't they do something useful like mint large size $20 and $10 coins? They'd never wear out and only institutional/international counterfeiting operations could manage to make copies.

From other posts of yours, it is clear that you are a socialist supporting the forced march of this country towards more socialism. The Senate has been controlled by the Dems for a long time now and they are the ones refusing to submit a budget and haven't for nearly 4 years. When Obama entered the White House, the debt stood at $10 trillion; he brought it up to $16.4 trillion (64% increase) and NOW wants to increase it even more.

It is the role of Congress to be a check and balance on the the Executive office and the House Republicans are doing their job by keeping the Crackpot (aka Obama) from taking this country down faster financially than even the inept Bush was able to do so. I neither voted for Bush, nor for the @sshole-in-Chief currently in office. The reality is that Obama is bankrupting this country.

You socialists are the ones out of touch with reality. Why don't you put down your comic books and read about what happened in Greece, and Spain, and the other countries that tried socialist economics?

From all of your posts, Teak, it's clear what you are too. But if I define what you are here I'll probably get thrown out of City-Data so I'll just let you keep ranting and exposing yourself for what you are without a doubt and in your own words.

Oh, I almost forgot. Here is some factual data than just might make your head explode. Check out the easy to read chart and see who the all-time debt king is. Knowing how and what you think, I'm sure you'll be surprised at how wrong you are. On second thought, knowing how and what you think, you'll probably have too much trouble reading the simple chart to get it.

Obama has run up the debt more than any other president. This is fact. He took the debt from $10 trillion to $16.4 trillion, and now wants to add more; thus, he is currently responsible for 39% of the U.S. debt and wants more! He is the champ!! Socialists everywhere are clapping their hands...when they're not reaching into the workers' pockets to help themselves.
