An internet economics forum is inevitably (or so it would seem) a great testbed for people who want to try out the latest in tinfoil hats.

if you actually watched her testimony, she was only talking about in theory. She was not actually proposing a 22 dollar minimum wage.

Everything lefties do start as a "theory".

They seldom work in the real world.

I don't think so. Most Mcworkers are high school or college kids. They are doing a part time job, and being paid fairly for the work. They aren't trying to support themselves, and they shouldn't be OVERPAID because some people are trying to support themselves.

What's fairly? That is the sort of language liberals use all the time. Is that what businesses do, figure out what is fair?

What do you think they'll be able to buy at a price 3 or 4 times higher than they are today? Probably not much more than a bag of hot air.

That's the idea. Thats the problem with debt saturation. You either do the Cypriot haircut or the inflationary one.

We have too much debt...

We don't have enough savings...

We don't have enough savings.

Solve the riddle...

Really? They are not trying to support themselves? If they are not trying to support themselves, why would they show up to work at all? I find your comment dismissive and obtuse. No young adult enjoys living in poverty and making poverty wages, of course they would like to make a livable wage to move out of their parents house, find a 'decent' apartment and start a life. The degree of wealth inequality 'Mcworker vs CEO' is becoming very severe. Also it is not 'High School' or 'college' kids just doing these jobs like back in the 1950's LOL!
