Very true. When I lived in Malaysia, I asked a bank if I could open an account with them to buy and sell unit trusts (mutual funds). They wouldn't take US citizens as customers because of the reporting paperwork required by the US government. Why should the US gov't need to know if I saved the money I earned in Malaysia, or spent it on investments? We have such a messed-up gov't. They spend $trillions and are looking to confiscate anything they can get their hands on.
